Beer Festival 2011

This year's annual beer festival will be held on the Saturday and Sunday over the August bank holiday. Featuring 11 types of beers and 9 ciders on offer we hope that we can replicate the success of previous years.

We are now Cask Marque approved and independently inspected so we are sure the quality of our beer is as good as we think it is. We are members of CAMRA. Inspired by my Dad’s love of tasting beer I have grown in experience and managed to pick some absolute crackers over the years.

Can’t wait for this years beer festival? Come and try us anytime. We have 2 regular ales on and 2 guest ales on every week. We have 3 very different draught ciders and the wine list is a bit special too.

New Spring Menu and events at The Star Inn

We have been busy this past few months so we would like to apologise for not writing sooner. Firstly we would like to extend a HUGE thank you to all our loyal customers that have supported us through these busy bank holidays and hope to see you all again at the end of the month for more fabulous food, drink and weather.

As you may have already noticed we have made some great little tweaks to the Star which I think you will all be pleased with, first of all we have released our brand new Spring Menu, which has all the best of the best of seasonal produce and some great little dishes that we feel will make you proud and don’t forget to look at our ever changing weekly specials, with greats dishes including fish, home cooking, pies, salads and packed full with your favourite vegetable of the moment, Asparagus. So weather you like it simply served with bread and butter or in a more elaborate dish, come along and have a peek at the menu and see what tickles your taste buds

We have also uploaded our Open Gardens Menu which you can find on our website, www.thestar-ashtonunderhill.co.uk which is up and ready for the Village event of the Year!!

We have recently had installed Thatcher’s Gold Cider which is refreshingly Crisp and Fruity and personally we LOVE IT! So why not try a glass and see what you recon and if you love it too, let us know!!

Ladies and Gents let’s not forget that it is Fathers Day, Sunday 19^th June. We had such a fabulous response to our Mothers Day menu we hope to see you all returning to celebrate the fathers of the world. So book a table early to avoid disappointment.

Of course all your favourite Star nights are still running throughout the summer, with Two for One Tuesdays and Curry Club Thursdays, so why not pop along for a mid week treat.

With the hectic festive season behind us we are restoring order here at The Star with a nice quiet and peaceful January. We are back to our fabulous British winter menu and after all the rich and sumptuous food of December it is a welcome change for all our diners, you just can’t go wrong with Grafton Sausage & Mash with Roasted Onion Gravy.

We have had some fantastic news for our Real Ale drinkers, as The Star has been awarded the prestigious Cask Marque accreditation which is the renowned symbol for a great pint of real ale, which of course our ale drinkers knew, but it is now official and we are as pleased as punch with the honour of receiving this award as all our hard work has paid off. For more information visit www.cask-marque.co.uk or why not get technical with their new app for iphone or androids, and with Cask Ale Sat Nav you are guaranteed to never lose your way to The Star but getting home on the other hand may be a challenge.

We have recently updated our website with our delicious Valentines Menu, which will also be dotted around The Star from Mid January so you can book early for your Table for Two between Friday 11th – Monday 14th February.

Decemberrrrr at the Star.

It may be cold outside but things are certainly warming up at the Star. With the festive season upon us the Star has embraced the wintery conditions with fantastic roaring fires, delicious winter fayre and a gorgeous selection of hot drinks from freshly roasted coffee to mulled wine. Along with our wide selections of Real Cask ales and our abundance of spirits, we are sure we have something to warm your cockles on a winter’s eve! Soft drinks also available.

We have a fabulous Christmas Menu to offer and we have a few Christmas Party slots still available. Whether it’s an office gathering or a small corporate affair we can cater for up to 45 in our fantastically festive new restaurant. Not only do you get cracking value for money with 2 courses for £13.95 or 3 courses for the great value of £16.95 We are able to offer a 10% discount for parties over 10. So this year you really can afford to spoil your employees and say thanks for all their hard work throughout the year!!

Sunday lunch is available throughout the festive period especially on Boxing Day.

We have some brilliant events planned throughout December and to kick start the festivities we have the amazing Andy Brumby performing Live Music for us on the 11th. And to end the year on a glorious high we are throwing our annual New Year’s Eve Party with the music, the buffet, the drinks but most of all the New Year cheer!! Free Entry to all!

The Star is now shining brighter than ever!!

The Star has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment and is now in full swing and ready for the festive season.

We have completely replaced our old shed bit with a purpose built restaurant which has not only extended the Stars restaurant to accommodate 48 but has added bags and bags of character and charm to our little country inn. With a warm atmosphere and a beautiful log burning stove, we now hope to provide comfortable country dining to all of our customers. Have a look at our photos.

We officially opened our new restaurant on September 25th with a lovely garden party which was well attended by villagers and business people alike. We had a wonderful day with lovely weather and cannot express our gratitude enough to our loyal patrons who turned out to support their local!
Along with the new restaurant we introduced a wonderful new menu serving the best of local British produce, a brand new Munchies menu packed full with delicious treats for the lighter diner and a selection of Cask Ales and Wines to suit everyone.

We have added some welcome additions to our week night schedule including the fabulous new Curry Club held every Thursday, where you can sample some of our Chef Roy’s legendary curries and side dishes. All curries include Basmati Rice and at only £5.95 you really can afford to spoil yourself!

Sunday lunch has been a real success with roasted joints from our very own family farm in Grafton and vegetables from the Vale of Evesham, thick home-made gravy and cider apple sauce. All for just £8.95 – Sunday lunch is truly delicious and very popular so don’t forget to call ahead if your coming.

All of us here at the Star have loving dedicated our time into making our little traditional British pub the best it can be, so why not come along and see us for a relaxing drink in a friendly pub or maybe sample some of the delicious dishes available from our new menus.
